Summary

Hello dear Internet dwellers!

My name is Picaru. I am a passionate character artist & designer, comic artist & writer, illustrator, & freelance graphic designer. My art style is mostly that of the Japanese-animation art style with a unique personal & recognizable touch integrated into it through many years of self-teaching. My design work is the product of college courses, but is also mostly self-taught.

I have recently begun learning & drawing through digital-only mediums, but also have experience in traditional mediums (pencils, pens, markers, colored pencils) & mixed media. For my design work, my strongest attributes are my acute attention to detail (all the way down to the last pixel) & typography.

I have plans on teaching myself animation again (as it's been a while since I've last animated) as well as additional skills I would like to learn such as video editing, audio editing, composing music, & much, much more! I'm eager to learn creative & technical skills & have been complimented many times on my ability to learn things quickly & perform above & beyond expectations.

In joining this site & working with more people, I hope to continue to grow & improve even further in both my general artwork as well as my design work. I hope you enjoy my content, thank you for visiting!

Experience

  • Graphic Designer/Marketing Intern at City of Olathe Parks and Recreation
Olathe, Kansas, United States of America
    November 2015 - April 2016

Paid internship for the graphic designer position with the city. The "Daddy/Daughter Dance" project was my trial assignment at which the marketing director was greatly impressed by the end product. The city continues to use some of my designs for various recurring events.
